We married technical needs with natural design to transform this simple slope stabilization in an industrial zone into an opportunity for ecological restoration. Using vegetated bags to support a steep hill, we replaced invasive species with a native forest garden inspired by a local biologist’s riparian planting plan, all on a limited budget. A water feature mimics the building’s facade to playfully integrate the built form into the natural landscape around it.
