A steeply-sloped site offered creative constraints to the goal of developing universally accessible walkways and play opportunities through this school ground revamp. By building a slide right into the hillside, we transformed this site’s challenges into an opportunity for play and leveraged its natural features to maximize fun while minimizing cost. An amphitheatre and life-sized music staff provide a playful ode to the school’s well-regarded music program and functional space for musical expression and exploration.
